Who's Headed to Memphis to Cheer on the Dawgs?

Hey Dawg fans! We have heard it on VERY good authority that the place to be for bowl revelry in Memphis is O'Sullivan's on Beale Street. Silky Sullivan, the owner of the legendary watering hole and award-winning restaurant, was a student at UGA in the 1960s and says "my heart will always have a connection to the Georgia campus." O'Sullivan's will be draped in red and black and is unveling a new cocktail, "The Rabid Dog." Each fan who orders a Rabid Dog gets a free Liberty Bowl souvenir cup.

O'Sullivan's is one of the best known party spots in the Deep South and features Memphis-style blues and rock seven days a week. Silky Sullivan counts among his clientele celebrities such as Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt, Peyton & Eli Manning, Merle Haggard, Lyle Lovett, and Bono, just to name-drop a few!

Folks, this place is the total package for visiting Bulldogs-- great red & black atmosphere, music, libations, and Memphis in May award-winning ribs & seafood.

Silky says "come on down!" He'll start welcoming Georgia Bulldogs fans on December 27th, "and keep everything rocking until the game is over on New Year's Eve. Then, we'll finish off the year with the biggest victory party Memphis has ever seen."

O'Sullivan's is just one block from the Peabody Hotel, headquarters for the Georgia football squad, and is an easy walk to museums, art galleries, music landmarks and unique attractions in downtown Memphis.

Tell Silky that Doc Lawrence and the Athens CVB sent 'ya. Go Dawgs!

Holiday Spirits Museum Mile Tour

There's still time to reserve your spot for this Saturday's Holiday Spirits Museum Mile Tour of Athens, Georgia's four historic house museums. This is NOT your typical home tour, or even holiday tour of homes. This very special, one-day event brings out the best of Athens' unique blend of southern heritage and energetic entertainment by adding live theatre vignettes at stops along the tour!

You'll experience an afternoon-evening of theatre, music and delicious fun, along with an opportunity to learn more about the history of each house from professional tour guides. Rose of Athens theatre has done an amazing job of writing, producing, and costuming three vignettes. Each is set during the Christmas holidays and reflects 19th century holiday traditions. Sparks of humor and insight will delight audiences of ALL ages.

If you've not had the opportunity to tour all of Athens' house museums: Church-Waddel-Brumby, Ware-Lyndon, T.R.R. Cobb, Taylor-Grady, you should definitely check this out. Even if you've "seen 'em before," trust us, you've never seen them like this, decked out for the holidays and alive with music and theatre.

The Holiday Museum Mile Tours will depart from the Ware-Lyndon House on Saturday, December 11, at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person for adults and $15 for children under the age of 10.
